Welcome to Smoke on the Sound – a celebration of barbecue, community, and the Pacific Northwest.

We’re Connor and Kira, a husband-and-wife team who fell in love with the world of BBQ competitions after attending countless events with family. What started as weekends filled with smoky flavors, laughter, and camaraderie quickly grew into a passion for creating something of our own.

Connor brings his background in event planning, while Kira adds her expertise in PR and social media. Together, we dreamed up Smoke on the Sound: a competition that not only highlights incredible local and traveling BBQ teams, but also showcases live music, small businesses, and the vibrant culture of our region.

For us, this is more than just an event—it’s about opening the doors to a niche and amazing community and inviting the public to experience the joy of good food, great company, and the beauty of the PNW.

Outside of BBQ, we’re avid travelers who love exploring new places with our dog, Stella, by our side. She’s part of the adventure, and just like us, she’s excited for this new chapter.

Our hope is that Smoke on the Sound becomes an annual tradition—something everyone can look forward to year after year. Whether you’re a competitor, a foodie, or simply someone who loves gathering with friends, we can’t wait to welcome you to the family.
